Merry CHRISTmas!

We are sooo excited for Talan's first Christmas. It has been a wonderful season so far and can't wait for what the new year will bring. Talan turned 6 months old yesterday and it makes me want to cry. Everyone says "it goes by so fast", but you have no idea until it is happening to you. Here are some pictures from the past few weeks.
Sitting up and playing with my toys!

This is what I look like when Daddy feeds me! It's fun, he does not care how messy I get. Mommy tries to clean me up as I go.

Thanksgiving 2009

Life has been busy and tons of fun lately. This year with Talan life is so exciting and filled with many "Firsts".
We had family intown this year for Thanksgiving and the big dinner was held at our house. I made the desserts and my mom made the dinner.

Paul's family came into town from Sacramento and my brother and his wife were here. We had such a great time.
Talan is growing up so fast and we are enjoying every minute. There are so many changes that I can't even think of all of them. He is sitting up pretty good now (I still sit with him to prop him back up when he falls over), he is loving all the new foods that he gets to eat (he loves avocado, squash and sweet potatoe, the peas were not such a hit!) and all his new discoveries.
So I just realized that I do not have that many pictures fron Thanksgiving. Hopefully my family has more and I will update the post later.

Growing Up Sooooo Fast!!!

I have heard it time and time again and all of you parents out there have been through it. "They grow up too fast." I always assumed it was true but now there is no doubt in my mind. I have loved every single moment with my little man so far and am so excited for all that is too come. My heart is filled with so much joy everyday. I have wanted to be a mom ever since I can remember and never imagined it would be this wonderful!
All of the fun, anticipation, planning, waiting, wanting, sadness, testing, procedures, doubt, pain, surgery, fear, etc. that came in the process of creating our little miracle was well worth it. I would do it a hundred times over to experience all of this.
Here are some pictures from the last few weeks.

Friends, Snow and The Pumkin Patch

Well I ventured out for my first "girls night" since Talan was born. Paul is great with him and I had no worries to leave my two boys together, but Talan was not so happy with the arrangement. We learned that he does not like to go to bed for the night with a bottle feeding. He gave his dad a run for his money! Woke up crying ever 10-20 minutes after Paul put him to bed and was just not a happy boy. He needs his mommy for a good night sleep. I am glad I had a great time cause I probably will not be doing it again for a while.

Snow to start October. We got about 4 inches.
Here is a picture of Talan checking out the snow for the first time.

This past weekend we met Kevin, Gina and Lucas at the pumkin patch. Talan and Lucas had their first hay ride. Not sure that they cared too much, but we had a great time.

Lots of Fun!

For all of you that know my husband, he always has a project going. Well, since Talan was born he wanted to do something for him. So...here is the picinic table that he made.
Talan is getting less and less fussy everyday. So we are able to play a lot more and it has been wonderful. He loves the shower and has a great time playing on his back, after diaper changes and in his gym.

First trip to the lake

Well, I feel like this summer has flown by!

It has been such a great and exciting time adjusting to parenthood, but as all you parents out there know; it is a HUGE adjustment. We have loved every minute, but of course we have not had a typical summer of camping and being out in the great weather.

Last weekend we finally made it out to Crescent Lake to camp for a night. We had a great time and Talan really enjoyed the boat ride.

Lounging after his first boat ride!

One thing that Paul has been looking forward to is all sports he will get to watch and play with his son. Playing will have to wait for another year or two, but now that football season has started they get to watch it together.
(I don't really think our 7 week old enjoys it as much as Dad!)

Road Trip, Family, Fair, Museum and More

Well, We have been super busy in the last month. Talan took his first road trip, met a bunch of family, went to the fair, had his first museum trip, and his first car show.

In the middle of the month My Mom, Dad, Talan and I took a road trip to California. Talan got to meet three of his Great Grandparents for the first time. That Friday we spent the morning with My Mom's parents. My Grandma really enjoyed being able to hold him and just look at him, unfortunately my Grandpa is suffering from dementia and was very uncomfortable with the baby around. It was very sad to see, but I am still thankful that Talan got to meet him while he is still around.

We stayed with my Dad's mom for the weekend and she was able to get some good quality time with him. All of the Great Grandparents were a little uncomfortable holding him, which led to more fussiness, but all and all it was very special weekend.

On Saturday my Mom and I attended the wedding of one of her best friend's daughter. We had a great time and Talan was a crowd favorite. The father of the groom actually stopped while walking down the isle to point out Talan to his wife!

At the end of July Paul's Mother, Grandmother and Aunt came to visit. We had a great week full of food and Fun. We went to the fair one day and to the High Desert Museum and Talan did great. That same day we went to a car show in Drake Park. Talan was in his stroller for most of the day, but halfway through the show he let us know that he was "over it". So we pulled him out and walked with him facing out. He was much happier that way. I think he has a love for cars just like Mommy and Daddy.

He is getting bigger by the day and we continue to see changes in his personality and his habits. He is sleeping well at night and having more awake time during the day. He also is not crying as much during that time, focusing on people/objects better and he even reached out and grabbed on to a stuffed animal that is on his changing table.

We are have a blast with him and are looking forward to all "the firsts" that the future has to offer.

Talan's First 4th of July

We had a wonderful weekend. We spent the 4th with some great friends, Erin and Courtney, at there place. Talan had a great time at his first house party.
Then we headed over to Grandpa K's house for a great view of the fireworks on Pilot Butte. Talan enjoyed them very much, even though he slept the whole time.
On sunday we walked down by the river in the old mill dist. It was a beautiful day.
Later that evening Talan got to experience his first hip hop concert. Our church hosted two amazing Christian hip hop artist. Red Cloud and Heath McNease. Definately worth checking out. Red Cloud has won the freestyle competition in LA multiple times and it is no surprise when you hear him flow.

First time in the Moby wrap. Yay, mom is hands free!!

Talan's baseball butt. Thanks Joe and Sarah.

Just relaxin' at the party.
